Director Professor , Department of Microbiology, Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi 110001.  Earned his MBBS and MD degrees from Maulana Azad Medical College,New Delhi(University of Delhi).After MD worked in Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow(Senior resident),Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College, Aligarh(as Lecturer) and PGIMER, New Delhi(as Specialist).In Lady Hardinge Medical College, New Delhi has worked in various positions since 1995;  In his current position involved in teaching courses of MBBS(Bachelor of Medicine &Bachelor of Surgery, MD(Doctor of Medicine),PhD(Doctor of philosophy),D.M., MCh., Degree in Nursing and Pre-hospital trauma care technician course. Is Incharge-State reference laboratory  HIV(NABL accredited)  in LHMC and associated hospitals and Incharge –Integrated counselling testing center HIV in LHMC and associated hospitals.

Empanelled as Technical assessor by National accreditation board for testing and calibration laboratories, New Delhi , India and  with National accreditation apex council(NAAC),Bangalore ,India. Appraiser for National Board of Education, New Delhi. Recognized assessor of NMC. Member P.G. Courses Committee 2018), Subject expert to Union Public Service Commission New Delhi, National Board of Examinations New Delhi., National  Medical Council New Delhi, U.P. Council for Science and Education, Lucknow, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and many other national universities).Reviewer in some leading journals as Indian Journal of Medical Research. M.B.B.S, M.D .,D.M., PhD, DMLT & BDS external examiner in many national/international universities(including Faculty of Medicine ,Kuwait, BPKHIS, Nepal) .Life member of Indian Association of Medical Microbiologists, Indian Association of Immunologist, Hospital Infection Society of India & Indian Federation of Sports Medicine, Annual member of American society of Microbiology. First author of two  text books (published by Peepee and Elsevier) and has contributed chapters in three other books. Supervisor/co-supervisor in MD/MS/ MCh. /PhD thesis of 39 students.

Involved in many scientific projects. Principal investigator in  ICMR project entitled `Study of genotypic diversity of S. enterica ser.Typhi in India by introduction of pulsed field gel electrophoresis`. PI in an institutional project entitled `Predictors of mortality in newborns with culture proven bloodstream infection admitted in level III  Neonatal Intensive care unit ,Delhi`. Incharge of the Dried blood spot(DBS) HIV surveillance project under NACO/MOHFW(Center catered to states of U.P. and Bihar). Incharge of the Dried blood spot (DBS) HCV surveillance project under NACO/MOHFW (Center catered to states of U.P. and Bihar).

Awarded the Gold Medal for best MD thesis in para clinical and preclinical subjects in 1990 (Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi University of Delhi) . Elected in the Country focused HIV/AIDS control plan at Osaka University, Japan in 1998.Awarded the best oral paper in 6^th and 9th National conferences of Hospital Infection Society of India in Jaipur, 2001 & Chandigarh 2007 respectively. Awarded the World Health Organization fellowships (Biotechnology) in 2002-2003 and (Outbreak investigation and epidemic preparedness) in 2011.Awarded the Dr. Gauri Bajaj Malik prize in 2005 for conducting research in allergy and immunology. Conferred Fellowship of International Medical Science Academy in 2009. Rashtriya Gaurav Award in 2016.

 Has 34 publications in indexed national and international journals. Sixty five presentations (National & International) in national and international conferences/forums.
