Dr. Venubabu Borugadda

MITACS Postdoctoral Fellow, Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Saskatchewan, Canada.

He received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India in 2016.

He received his Master of Technology degree with Petroleum Refinery Engineering specialization from the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2011.

Before joining the University of Saskatchewan, he was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the National Institute of Technology Calicut, Kerala.

He has 10 years of research experience in biomaterials processing, bio-lubricants, and the production of biofuels and biochemicals.

Currently, the focus of his research is on the production of advanced biofuels through hydrothermal liquefaction, catalysis, and chemical reaction engineering as well as techno-economic and lifecycle analyses.

He has been serving as a reviewer for many international journals such as Fuel (Elsevier), Journal of Cleaner Production (Elsevier), International Journal of Hydrogen Energy (Elsevier), Industrial Crops and Products (Elsevier), Chemical Engineering Communications (Taylor & Francis Group) and International Journal of Industrial Chemistry (Springer Nature).

He has published more than 25 research articles in peer-reviewed journals, 8 book chapters and more than 30 conference proceedings.
