Dr. T. S. Rao

Former Senior Advisor, Department of Bio-Technology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of. India, New Delhi.

Dr. TS Rao is a former Senior Advisor (Additional Secretary Rank) in the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. He is associated with the DBT for the past 32 years (since inception) and coordinating programs related to Medical Biotechnology.

At present, Dr Rao is working as an Advisor in developing Health Technology Campus at llT Jhajar.

Research and Interests: 

Dr.Rao also played a significant role with the Polio Eradication programme of Govt.of India since1987-88 and India became polio free Nation in 2014.  Dr Rao coordinated development and commercialization of first indigenously developed ROTAVAC and ROTASIIL Vaccines, which were introduced in National immunization Program in eleven states so far.

Dr. Raoestablrshed, BIBCOL,IVCOL, NBRC, THSTI, in Stem and Niche centers, viz VIDRC, PBC, CBD, COSA, c.CAMP, CCBT, CNS etc. and NCR and B-Life Biotech Science Clusters.

Publications: 

He has about 23 scientific publications and popular articles to his credit in National and International Peer Reviewed Journals in the area of Vaccines, Genetics, and other areas of molecular biology and immunology.
