Dr. S S Mantha is an alumnus of Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and VJTI, Mumbai,. Currently He works as an Adjunct Professor of the National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru and also as Emeritus Professor, VJTI. He is a former Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and has served as President National Board of Accreditation. He served as Chancellor of the KL University for a period of three years and as Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the SNDT Women's University, Mumbai also for three years. He has implemented several initiatives which promoted transparency and accountability.
