  • Professor Satyanarayana Sirasani is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC). He is also a Fellow of Andhra Pradesh Academy of Sciences. He had been offered several Visiting and Guest Appointments in leading Universities.  
  • He Received his Ph.D in Chemistry (Bioinorganic & Inorganic), from Osmania University, September 1982.

  • Professor Satyanarayana has made wide ranging research contributions in bioinorganic chemistry that encompass synthesis of biologically active and architecturally challenging anticancer agents, creation of new DNA molecular probes. 
  • He has 151 research publications to his credit. His forays into synthesis have been marked by brevity, conceptual novelty and originality and his flair for devising simple solutions to complex and challenging problems of contemporary interest in bioinorganic synthesis have drawn attention internationally. In addition, he has made significant contribution to science education, science policy and planning and management of higher education in India.

INITIATIVES AND ACHIEVEMENTS AS VC, OSMANIA UNIVERSITY

  • He has recruited 170 Assistant Professors, during my tenure as VC.  I have selected best of the best teachers. They are the future of the Osmania University. Most of the Assistant Professors got startup grant.
  • Under TEQIP Rs. 12.5 crores was sanctioned each Engineering and Technology
  • 79th Annual Convocation of Osmania University was held and Prof. Goverdhan Mehta, National Research Professor, University of Hyderabad delivered the convocations address.
  • Osmania University was identified as the Nodal Agency to conduct APSET and UGC also permitted the same for the next three years.
  • Chairman APSET and PGECET.
  • He was invited to USA & Canada in July, 2012; to China in September, 2012 and to Germany in February, 2013 to address and participate in various academic conferences on Higher Education.
